Do Protein Shakes Rack Up Pounds?
To answer this plain and simple, the answer is no. This is coming from a situation where you drink a protein shake once a day. Protein powders are meager calories in terms of scoops, many just aren’t calorie-packed. There’s a whole other type of protein powder that is designed to specifically make you gain weight called mass gainers. However, that’s not to say that drinking a whole bunch of protein shakes a day won’t cause you to gain weight, it’s unlikely, but not impossible. Scoops of protein may not be all that calorie-dense, but too much of something is always bad for you, let alone supplements. Remember, protein shakes are supplements; they’re are meant to enhance something, not be the basis. Make sure you focus on whole foods for your protein and leave supplements to add that last extra boost to your diet.

As a matter of fact, protein shakes are a supplement to complete many purposes like the ones I mentioned above, but I left one out until now. I’d like to emphasize that protein shakes are also a means to lose fat believe it or not. This is all possible due to the nature of protein itself, the macronutrient is one the most interesting in terms of its possibilities. Little to be known by the people, protein is the most filling macronutrient us humans can consume.
Due to its very filling nature, protein powders can make you very full fast. This feeling of satiation causes people to eat less calories since their bellies are full, causing them to burn more calories than they consume. This is why you see a lot of athletes trying to stay lean, drinking protein shakes to keep themselves full and burn fat. Not to mention, more protein leads to a boost in your metabolism. How To Maximize Weight Loss With Protein Powder
Now that you know that protein shakes can, in fact, help you lose weight instead of gain it, I bet you’d like to know how to maximize your weight loss. Well, I’ll fill you in how I lose a ton of weight utilizing protein powder. I’d say I’m in pretty good shape, at least that’s what everyone says(especially the ladies.) It wasn’t always this way. However, it took a journey for me to shred the fat.
During my sophomore year in high school, I remembered the doctor told me I weighed almost 220 lbs only at 5’11’. I knew it was time for a change, so I set that summer for a change in my lifestyle.
